***** Why a down/feather insert? *****

Your pillow cover has been cut with squared corners. When stuffing a pillow cover that has square corners, it is possible to take the corner of the insert and stuff it into the corner of the pillow cover. This allows the soft fill to settle into those sharp edges. It is not possible to do this with a polyester-fill pillow since they are stiffer, resulting in an ill fit with "dog ears" at the corners.

Allergic to down? There are good alternatives. Synthetic down or bamboo will give the same effect as down and feather.

This pillow cover has been cut and sewn with a down or down alternative insert in mind. If you plan to use polyester inserts, simply let me know in a note with your order that you would like me to cut your pillow with tapered corners, which will allow for a better fitting pillow cover in this case.
