**** Why a down/feather insert? ****

Your pillow cover has been cut with squared corners. When stuffing a pillow cover that has square corners, it is possible to take the corner of the insert and stuff it into the corner of the pillow cover. This allows the soft fill to settle into those sharp edges. It is not possible to do this with a polyester-fill pillow since they are stiffer, resulting in an ill fit with "dog ears" at the corners.

Allergic to down? There are good alternatives. Synthetic down or bamboo will give a similar effect to down and feather.
